PROFILE

Joanne Froggatt was born in 1979 in the town of Littlebeck, North Yorkshire. She joined Redroof Drama School in Maidenhead when she was 13 and television work eventually followed with a role as a teenage prostitute in The Bill.

Apparently not wishing to rely on an acting career, Joanne took a regular job in Scarborough and was thinking of dropping acting altogether. Fate intervened, however, when she was offered the chance to audition for the longrunning TV series Coronation Street. As a result of the audition, she was given the role of Zoe Tattersall, which kept her occupied from  May 1997 to  December 1998.

After Coronation Street, Joanne obtained more roles in shows like Heartbeat, Dinnerladies, Bad Girls and  Nature Boy, among others.  These were followed by the tele-movies The Last Detective and Lorna Doone.Joanne now lives in Nottingham with her boyfriend.
